The Museum of Sporting Dystopia aims to address emerging issues around sports in the current biopolitical condition. Unlike the traditional sports museums, which can be seen as topologies of apotheosis and triumph, the Museum of Sporting Dystopia, a non-museum inside the Benaki Museum and a heterotopia as well, invites the visitor to rethink on uncertainties and “rifts” in the sporting, and therefore socio-political, field. In other words, the Museum of Sporting Dystopia explores aspects of a dystopian post-athletic world that seems to have already come.
