Shooting at the streets, you have the feeling you are a beholder of a theatre act that was directed and is taking place for you only, the actors, the set, the act are there for your eyes only. Paraphrasing the label from Herman Hesse’s Steppenwolf’s Magic Theatre, the streets are a theatre “for photographers only”. And you -the photographer- are there to become a witness, a narrator of little stories, snapshots of an invisible act, where colour red rules over the scene. And when the curtain falls, when the lights go out, looking at the pictures you have captured, you sense that this show will not be repeated ever again, because it was only once and it was only for you. But you know, that the next time you will look through the viewfinder of your camera, the busy street will become a theatre again, each time a unique performance….
