Young Greeks under the economic crisis is a photographic documentary focusing on Greek unemployment particularly amongst young people. Unemployed youth and students are photographed in their homes, displaying their inertia due to unemployment. Being at a standstill, in half naked poses they demonstrate how one can feel ashamed in his or her, own house. Place plays such an important part as the person itself. The project focuses on how a social problem, such as unemployment, can affect the psychology of a young person and how in contrast, beauty can remain unwavering despite the inertia and the misery.
Part of the project was selected by the London National Gallery to be included in the “Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2014” exhibition.
