John Demos is considered one of the most important Greek photographers of the last thirty years. With “Albania” he became one of the first to photograph the country during a critical point in its history, in 1990-91. The images depict the daily life of Albanians but also many of the major historical events that took place at that time. The work is accompanied by a text of Ismail Kandare and was first shown at the Rencontres of Arles in 2008.
