‘Inner Out’ is a sequence of individual and collective portraits completed in a time frame of six years.

Those portrayed are a selection of familiar faces, drawn from my circle of friends and family, with the aim being a penetrating study of the psychological contour of their form. The goal of this project was the photographic depiction of the inner world -“inner”- of those portrayed and how this world forms their surrounding space -“out”. Directing each composition within each individual’s “personal” space, where the individual and their environment interact through the choices that characterize their life, the photographic lens enabled me to register their particular and unique world and character.

The technical thoroughness of the images, with the austere frame and the great depth of field, were at stake. A series of eighteen photographic works came about.
