How does our own personal space affect us? Does it influence how we feel and look? With this question in mind, Iliana tries to find people’s personality in one single image. These are portraits of people she knows, friends of all ages and from all walks of life in their own very personal space – their bedroom. Some take a pause, others keep on with what they are doing – truth is, not all feel that comfortable in front of the lense. The photographer is a friend and an observer. She is the co-director of this short story, of this one, singular moment. She approaches her friend and collaborator in an affectionate and straightforward manner, leaving him/ her free to find his/her place in the bedroom, in front of the lense. Why the bedroom? Because it is a room open to few, which makes it all the more attractive. For some it is a place to fall back into and rest, for others somewhere to delve into one’s own creativity. It can be a place for meditation or a playground. It can be anything. And at the end, her friends showed their real face, or at least part of it.
