I come from a culturally rich but also very complex environment, with an extreme level of domestic violence and complicated family relationships. My photographic work arises from the need to explore, question and confront to build a present and find a place in this world as a person. Throughout my work I use the image, trying to challenge my own culture and the relationship between the members of my family. I also found in the photo a factory to create affection and bonds with others. In a territory full of pain, I use fiction and the photographic act to understand its complexity and psychological density. Linking myself in an intimate way with photography has allowed me to find another way of conceiving and understanding life, religion, body, desire, affection, contact, bonds. Being humanly complex. For me, photography is a transformative experience, a position before life.
