Two generations reflecting on the same subject,-
quite restrictive yet at the same time
charming-, two different perceptions, two
different results Father and Son-, both photographers
that differ thematically in photography,
reveal their differences and similarities
from within their kinship and through
a common subject-matter.
Vasilis Skopelitis, son of Stelios Skopelitis, Vasilis
Skopelitis has chosen to show generic
shots of an exquisite landscape with sensitivity,
through a realistic geometric view-,
well-matched in the cruelty and at the same
time in the tenderness that, each landscape
reveals.
On the contrary, the Stelios Skopelitis has
chosen close shots, where the object acquires
a other form, non-recognizable, but
always poetic. The abstraction of the shot
clearly reveals the maturity.
The two hold no rivalty amongst them.
The natural differences belong to the dark
perception of psychoanalysis that leads nowhere.
When a person’s mentality can identify
with nature-, a subject that Christianity
and profiteering politics avoid, differences
do not exist.
This is what Vasilis Skopelitis and Stelios Skopelitis
strive to show.
