Exhibition Program

Exploring critical issues of our times, the festival attempts to bring together a range of different perspectives from emerging and established artists and photographers from all over the world with the aim to raise awareness and foster an understanding of contemporary culture and society through photography in all its forms. The exhibition program of the festival will be comprised of a series of solo and group exhibitions, presenting a wide variety of works, ranging from fine art to documentary and photojournalism, photo-based installations to multimedia.

Our program works within an international, national and local context, encompassing a variety of activities designed to reflect the diversity of contemporary photographic practice, and to create opportunities for exchange of ideas, artistic expression and international engagement.

OPEN CALL

Athens Photo Festival 2019 is accepting submissions from emerging and established artists and photographers from around the world for its 2019 exhibition program. The selected works will be exhibited from 13 June to 28 July 2019, at the Benaki Museum (Pireos St. Annexe), one of the most prestigious museums in Greece. The exhibition program will be comprised of a wide variety of works from all the image-based genres, ranging from fine art and conceptual to documentary and photojournalism, photo-based installations, performance, interactive and multimedia works. The Festival also welcomes submissions for its Photobook Show. To be eligible for inclusion in Festival programming, proposals must be submitted before 10 April, 2019.
