Athens Photo Festival 2020 will take place from 16 September to 15 November. The exhibition program will feature artists and photographers from all over the world. The exhibitions will be comprised of a wide variety of works from all the image-based genres, ranging from fine art and conceptual to documentary and photojournalism, photo-based installations, performance, interactive and multimedia works. The list of participating artists will be announced in August 2020.
Exploring critical issues of our times, the festival attempts to bring together a range of different perspectives from emerging and established artists and photographers from all over the world with the aim to raise awareness and foster an understanding of contemporary culture and society through photography in all its forms. The main program will take place at the Benaki Museum / Pireos 138, covering an area of 2.000 square meters. In addition to the main venue-based program, the festival encourages community involvement through satellite exhibitions in various locations in the city.
Our program works within an international, national and local context, encompassing a variety of activities designed to reflect the diversity of contemporary photographic practice, and to create opportunities for exchange of ideas, artistic expression and international engagement.
