Athens Photo Festival 2020 is accepting submissions from artists and photographers from all over the world for its exhibition program. The selected works will be exhibited this summer, at the Benaki Museum / Pireos 138, one of the most prestigious museums in Greece. The exhibition program will be comprised of a wide variety of works from all the image-based genres, ranging from fine art and conceptual to documentary and photojournalism, photo-based installations, performance, interactive and multimedia works.
Exploring critical issues of our times, the festival attempts to bring together a range of different perspectives from emerging and established artists and photographers from all over the world with the aim to raise awareness and foster an understanding of contemporary culture and society through photography in all its forms. The main program will take place at the Benaki Museum / Pireos 138, covering an area of 2.000 square meters. In addition to the main venue-based program, the festival encourages community involvement through satellite exhibitions in various locations in the city.
Our program works within an international, national and local context, encompassing a variety of activities designed to reflect the diversity of contemporary photographic practice, and to create opportunities for exchange of ideas, artistic expression and international engagement.
