I aim to elevate the intensity of places where I both make and show my work through creating semi-fictional and semi-constructed platforms for encounters between people and things. My works tell about human-nonhuman relationships, the ontology of material as well as one´s relationship to a camera. Associations and spontaneity play a central role. I believe in the interconnection of all things and narratives that mix fact and fiction to create new meanings.
Wash Up seeks to uproot the established hierarchies between humans and non-human. Associatively layered work suggests and enacts patterns for the participants to inhabit, all the while insisting on keeping the range of possible interpretations and reactions wide open. While reaching out and making contact with the world around it the work counteract human exceptionalism.
